چکیده
A two-photon fluorescent probe (ACaL) is reported that can be excited by 780 nm fs pulses, shows high photostability and negligible toxicity, and can visualize near-membrane Ca2+ in live cells and deep inside live tissues by two-photon microscopy.

A Golgi-localized two-photon probe for imaging zinc ions.
We report a two-photon fluorescent probe which shows a strong two photon excited fluorescence enhancement in response to Zn(2+), easy loading into the cells, Golgi-localizing ability, low cytotoxicity, and high photostability. Two-photon microscopy imaging revealed that this probe allows for real-time monitoring of the changes in Golgi Zn(2+) as well as their 3D distributions in live cells and ...
متن کاملSynthesis of practical red fluorescent probe for cytoplasmic calcium ions with greatly improved cell-membrane permeability
In this data article, we described the detailed synthetic procedure and the experimental data for the synthesis of a red-fluorescent probe for calcium ions (Ca2+) with improved water solubility. This Ca2+ red-fluorescent probe CaTM-3 AM could be applied to fluorescence imaging of physiological Ca2+ concentration changes in not only live cells, but also brain slices, with high cell-membrane perm...
متن کاملA Two-Photon Fluorescent Probe for Lysosomal Thiols in Live Cells and Tissues
Lysosome-specific fluorescent probes are exclusive to elucidate the functions of lysosomal thiols. Moreover, two-photon microscopy offers advantages of less phototoxicity, better three dimensional spatial localization, deeper penetration depth and lower self-absorption. However, such fluorescent probes for thiols are still rare. In this work, an efficient two-photon fluorophore 1,8-naphthalimid...
متن کاملA small molecule two-photon fluorescent probe for intracellular sodium ions.
We report a small-molecule two-photon fluorescent probe (ANa2) for Na(+) that shows a strong TPEF enhancement in response to Na(+) and can be easily loaded into live cells and can real time monitor the fluctuation of [Na]i in live cells and living tissue at more than 100 μm depth.
متن کاملDevelopment of practical red fluorescent probe for cytoplasmic calcium ions with greatly improved cell-membrane permeability.
Fluorescence imaging of calcium ions (Ca(2+)) has become an essential technique for investigation of signaling pathways involving Ca(2+) as a second messenger. But, Ca(2+) signaling is involved in many biological phenomena, and therefore simultaneous visualization of Ca(2+) and other biomolecules (multicolor imaging) would be particularly informative. For this purpose, we set out to develop a f...
